How can i keep my ribbon snake healthy by just feeding him these things?
The Planned diet includes rosy red minnows, crickets, and earthworms. Will this diet provide complete nutrition?
Yes, just remember that it is important to keep offering a variety of food sources rather than just relying on one. Also, if you can get your ribbon to eat frozen pinkies, I would as they are a very well rounded source of nutrition. But the minnows, crickets, and earthworms are what they would eat in the wild. I would also supplement them with some sort of B3 and/or calcium supplement once a week. Look for a supplement specifically made for snakes if you can. Also, make sure you are getting your feeders from a reliable source. Sick food means a sick snake. Finally, don’t feed your ribbon the feeder comets-stick with the minnows. The comet goldfish are very high in niacin which can lead to thiamine (B3) deficiency. They are also higher in fat than the minnows. The rosy reds also contain niacin, just not as much; this is why it is important to not rely solely on the fish for food. Alrighty, hope this helped. =D
